Any Foreign Company intending to set-up business in India can instead of incorporating a company in India establish a foreign office in form of any of the following:

	Liaison Office
	Branch Office
	Project Office

Foreign Companies as an initial step towards setting up business in India, generally begin with setting up their foreign offices in India. Foreign Offices are generally preferred when only limited activities are required to be carried on and scale of business operations is not big.
